Michael Waite collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Recruitment in the College of Arts and Sciences to develop and implement strategic recruitment plans for sustaining high quality applications and enrollment of New First Year Students (NFYS) and supporting strategic recruitment and retention plans for underrepresented students. His primary role is the coordination of Arts and Sciences engagement in on- and off-campus events through table fairs and academic overviews. In this role, Michael coordinates general Arts and Sciences academic overviews for special constituents in summer bridge programs like the Young Scholars Program, Upward Bound, and for new advisors, territory managers, high school counselors, and the Exploration program. Michael also coordinates travel for staff and students and helps manage the fiscal operations of the office through Workday. He also acts as the college’s primary contact person for prospective students interested in visiting one of its programs.

Arts and Sciences Office of Undergraduate Recruitment works to promote the college to prospective undergraduate students, while simultaneously supporting the university’s enrollment goals and initiatives. In addition, the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment sustains diversity programs specifically targeted to the recruitment, retention and advancement of underrepresented students.
