Piazza named senior director of Arts and Sciences marketing and communications
Shantay Piazza, who currently serves as the marketing and communications manager for the Moritz College of Law, will join the College of Arts and Sciences as the senior director of marketing and communications, effective July 12.
A dedicated higher education communicator and marketer, Piazza has extensive Ohio State work experience, including roles in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Office of Government Affairs. Piazza is also an Arts and Sciences alumna and started her career in the college in 2006 where she worked as program coordinator for the Office of Interdisciplinary Programs before working as the recruitment marketing manager and communications specialist for the communications services office.
"There’s no place in the world like the College of Arts and Sciences, and I am excited to join a vibrant, collaborative, and innovative community,” Piazza said. “I believe the college has unlimited potential, and I look forward to working alongside faculty, staff, students, and alumni to elevate its marketing and communications platform."
As the senior director of marketing and communications, Piazza will provide strategic direction for all aspects of internal and external marketing and communications for the College of Arts and Sciences. A member of the dean’s leadership team, she will advance college priorities in several areas, including in research and entrepreneurship; arts and culture; faculty excellence; student experience; and diversity, equity and inclusion. She will lead the college’s editorial development and marketing strategy, helping ensure messages increase awareness of the faculty’s work, enhance the reputation of the college, inspire prospective and current students, and foster lasting friendships with Arts and Sciences graduates.
“I am thrilled that Shantay will be rejoining the college,” said David Horn, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “She brings experience and vision to the work of sharing our stories with a wide range of audiences, and her energy and passion are contagious.”
