Each year, the College of Arts and Sciences recognizes the recipients of endowed college awards and college-wide awards for teaching and mentoring in the Arts and Sciences. This year, we're proud to honor the following faculty members:

• Angus Fletcher, professor in the Department of English, received the 2020 Rodica C. Botoman Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring.
• Amy Connolly, professor in the Department of Physics, and Heather Tanner, associate professor in the Department of History, received the 2020 Susan M. Hartmann Mentoring and Leadership Award.
• May Mergenthaler, associate professor in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures, received the 2020 Virginia Hull Research Award for Scholarship in the Humanities.
• Jonathan Parquette, professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Vincent Roscigno, professor in the Department of Sociology, received the 2020 Harlan Hatcher Arts and Sciences Distinguished Faculty Award.
• Stephanie Smith, professor in the Department of History, and Sarah Neville, assistant professor in the Department of English, received the 2020 Paul W. Brown Excellence in Teaching Award in English and History.
• John Brooke, Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor and the Warner Woodring Chair of American History; Stephanie Shaw, professor in the Department of History; Karin Musier-Forsyth, Ohio Eminent Scholar in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry; Michael Ibba, former chair and a current adjunct professor in the Department of Microbiology; and Inés Valdez, associate professor of political science and the director of the Latina/o Studies Program, received 2020 Diversity Enhancement Faculty Awards.
• Kathryn Lenz, associate professor in the Department of Psychology; Eden Lin, associate professor in the Department of Philosophy; and David Penneys, associate professor in the Department of Mathematics, received 2020 Early-Career Faculty Excellence Awards.
• Joshua Goldberger, professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry; Christopher Otter, professor in the Department of History; and Elisabeth Root, associate professor in the Department of Geography, received 2020 Mid-Career Faculty Excellence Awards.
