"The Colonial Nursery," Sucharita Sen, The Ohio State University
The inaugural presentation of the "2024-2025 Intimacy, Intersectionality, Identity: Gender, Empire, and Everyday Lives" Seminar Series is a discussion of a chapter on "The Colonial Nursery" from Dr. Sucharita Sen's book manuscript, "The Hierarchy-Intimacy Paradox: Everyday Interracial Relationships in British India (1800-1915)." It is an exploration of the many complexities of everyday colonial lives through a story of British children with their Indian servants.Details
